George D. Schaffner Biography
George D. Schaffner is the General Manager for Saturn of Rockford, Illinois. For thirty years Schaffner has been involved in the automotive industry and received his start as somewhat of a service manager in the United States Army. During 1981 – 1984, Schaffner completed his basic training and accepted three different achievement medals for his service. While serving in the Army, Schaffner work for Kuehn & Sons AMC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Schaffner worked in the parts department where he supplied parts, sold wholesale items to body shops, restocked, and more. Schaffner worked himself up from Set – Up Mechanic to Assistant Manager, but he wouldn’t stop there. In 1987, Schaffner was hired as a Used Car Sales person for Zimbrick Buick. His motivation and persistence led him to being awarded the “Buick Sales Masters Award” in 1990. In 1991, Schaffner accepted a promotion to become the Saturn of Madison Business Manager. Schaffner created and maintained the F&I office as well as becoming the Systems Administrator for EDS Computer Systems. In 1994, Schaffner received another promotion for Used Car Team Leader. He soon became the sales leader. In 1997, he became the New Car Team Leader. Schaffner took control of day- to-day planning and over came obstacles that approach him. By 2000, Schaffner was offered the General Manager for the Saturn of Rockford, Illinois. With his vast knowledge of Saturn systems and processes, Schaffner became highly recommended.
