ROCKFORD (WIFR)-- Each month downtown art galleries, shops and music venues work together to stay open late providing great new art, music and goods. This month's participating sites include: The Prairie Street Gallery, J.R. Kortman, Pirate Ninja Print Shop, Wallblank, Krypto, Irish Rose , Octane and Tom Littrell Design.

A few additional sites will be added this week as well. Information and maps will be available at all of the locations. First Fridays will continue to take place on the first Friday of every month.

The idea for First Fridays came from seeing successful examples in cities such as Richmond, Kansas City and Pittsburgh. They have thriving local art scenes that are largely driven by these monthly collaborations.

For more information concerning First Fridays in Rockford, contact Shawn Kelley (owner of Wallblank) - email: shawn@wallblank.com phone: 985-237-8074.
