Local canines and their owners shake the dog days of summer by making a big splash.

Carlson Ice Arena plays host to dock dogs this holiday weekend. Owners toss chew toys and their furry companions explode off the dock. At $20 a jump, dogs compete for height and distance, while the K-9 with the biggest splash wins only respect.

Spectators are welcome to attend free of charge. The competition runs from ten to seven tomorrow, and ten to five Sunday.
