ATLANTA (AP) -- The rapper T.I. has pleaded gulity to federal weapons possession charges.
The guilty plea came today in an Atlanta courtroom.
T.I. will be sentenced in a year. Between now and then, he has to complete at least 1,000 hours of community service -- with 500 more hours still to be served after that. He's supposed to talk to youth groups about the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of machine guns and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He's one of the most successful artists in pop music. His sixth album was released in July, and made its debut at number-one.
T.I. appeared last year in the movie "American Gangster," with Denzel Washington.
