PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- After 21 Democratic presidential debates, Hillary Clinton has made a concession she'd been trying to avoid. She says Barack Obama can win in November.

Asked a similar question about Clinton at last night's debate in Philadelphia, Obama said, "Absolutely and I've said so before." Clinton had previously declined to make a similar statement about him.

In their 90-minute debate, the two rivals pledged not to raise taxes on individuals who make less than $200,000 a year, and said they would respond forcefully if Iran were to use nuclear weapons against Israel.

They did get into a bit of a tussle over Social Security. Obama said he favored raising payroll taxes on higher-income individuals. And when Clinton said she opposed the proposal, Obama quickly countered that she had said earlier in the campaign she was open to the idea.
