MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Democrat Barack Obama today conceded that comments he made about bitter working class voters who -- quote -- "cling to guns or religion" were ill chosen.

Presidential rival Hillary Rodham Clinton says Obama's remarks were "elitist and out of touch."

At issue are comments Obama made privately at a fundraising gathering in San Francisco last Sunday. He explained his troubles winning over working-class voters, saying they have become frustrated with economic conditions.

The comments, posted on the Huffington Post political Web site yesterday, set off a storm of criticism from Clinton, Republican nominee-in-waiting John McCain and a number of other GOP officials.

Why do you have so many postings about Obama and not so much for Clinton? I always hear that Obama is being treated "unfairly" but from this station I feel it is the other way around and Hilary is the one taking cheap shots. I always watch CBS, but lately, being a Clinton supporter, I find myself changing the channel when the topic of politics comes up. Especially after the debate the other night. I started watching Katie Courric and was very unimpressed with her commemts!!! The station seems to be for Obama, which is fine, but to be a national broad casting station I think many of you should be more discreet on your dislike for Hilary Clinton.
