ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Republican Candidate Bill Brady and Independent Candidate Scott Lee Cohen made campaign stops in Rockford.

Brady highlighted a four point plan he says will help create jobs across the state. He wants to create a more stable tax climate to help jumpstart the economy develop a new capital improvement plan, improve workers' compensation and restore accountability and transparency to the budget process.

"These are all about leveling the playing field and creating a fair playing field for businesses to grow in Illinois." said Brady.

As part of his tour, Brady said if elected, he would veto any sort of tax increase.

Another man challenging the current governor is a guy who not too long ago was running with the current governor.

Scott Lee Cohen is running as an Independent for Governor after resigning under pressure as the democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor due to past allegations of domestic abuse and steroid use.

Cohen says he knows he faces long odds winning as an independent candidate, but he says focusing on the long unemployment lines is the key to winning in November. Cohen says we should take a closer look at Texas which currently ranks 3rd in job creation compared to Illinois which ranks 46th.

"They have 350 million dollar in an enterprise fund. What they do is they give incentives to companies to come to their state. Illinois needs to do that. Illinois needs to be aggressive in building infrastructure for companies. And most importantly Illinois has got to offer educated people to get these jobs."

Election Day is November 2nd.

Cohen is what Illinois needs. I'm tired of the party politics. Cohen has been hosting job fairs and actually doing something to get the people of Illinois back to work. Cohen has my vote

I would vote for Cohen. He knows what it's like to desire a second chance in life & that's what IL needs!
