ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Rockford Memorial Hospital Thrift Shop, located at 2830 Glenwood Avenue in Rockford, is closed until further notice.

The closure is the result of a fire in the ceiling of the building on February 6.

Damage to the building is considered “extensive” but no official estimate on costs have been established.

Rockford Health System will communicate more information as it becomes available.

The Thrift Shop, run by Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and its volunteers, sells discounted items including clothing, housewares, sports goods, toys, books, linens, small furniture, antiques and collectibles.
