The home builders association of the greater Rockford area says there were no new home permits for the Northern Illinois County in December. It’s the first time that's happened since the group started keeping data in 1984. Builders started just 90 houses last year in Boone and Winnebago counties.

Your statement in regard to trades is way off. Do you forget that all of those you mention have iron clad health care for life. Yes Life!!!!! What does your statement in regard to a GED have to do with anything. See your comments make me wonder if you have a GED. The fact is that homes are not being built because there is no advantage right now to anyone to build a home. Homes a de-valued so much in this area that MANY have to take a check to closing when selling their home. The other point is taxes. I deal with home buyers and sellers every single day. The bis problem is real estate taxes. I met someone yesterday moving because the taxes on his home in the county is 11K. Sorry folks that is just robbery.

Could this have anything to do with the trades... Carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc won't reduce their union wages? Love how citizens want police, teachers, and firefighters to take home less but trades.. Including UAw workers who have no more than a GED are paid 15.00+ an hour

This is a good thing. Trees take years to grow we should be using hemp instead. We also have to many houses and cities a decrease in numbers is a good thing.
