Poplar Grove, Ill. A lot of tough competitors fill the Big Northern Conference, but the Royal Lions emerged to the top Thursday at Timber Pointe Golf Club.
Rockford Christian's Riley Hogan paved the way to the championship with a tie for second-best overall, finishing with a 75. Teammate Owen Hultman also contributed in a big way with a three-way tie for fourth sitting at 80. Combined the team went on to win the BNC Championship with a score of 336.
Winnebago claimed second place in the meet at 351, with Marcus Smith taking first place overall with a 73 individual score. Lutheran was aiming to match the girl's conference title after the Lady Saders won Wednesday, but the Crusaders took fourth with a team score of 355.
