Green Bay, Wis. (WIFR) Packers defensive end Dean Lowry has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last Sunday against the Buccaneers.
In Green Bay’s 26-20 overtime victory, Lowry recorded a sack and returned a fumble 62 yards for a touchdown.
Teammate Kenny Clark got the sack on the play, and as he was taking Tampa Bay QB Jameis Winston to the ground, the ball came free, and Lowry snagged it out of midair. He ran untouched all the way to the end zone and performed his first Lambeau Leap.
This is Lowry’s first career player of the week award, and the first by a Green Bay defensive player in 2017.
