ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- While the IHSA is holding its state championship games for both boys and girls basketball down at Illinois State University, the Illinois Association of Christian Schools is hosting its title games here in Rockford.
North Love Christian School on the city's northeast side was represented in both the boys and girls championship games. Unfortunately for the Lady Lancers, the ball wouldn't bounce their way.
The North Love girls fell to the Marquette Lady Minutemen out of Downers Grove 37-18.
However, the boys had the shooting touch down the stretch in their game.
The Lancers went on an 11-2 to close the game, coming from behind to beat the South Side Torchmen from Oak Lawn 44-38.
It's unbelievable. I mean, it's been a long time since we've been here at this level" said senior Chase Curington. "It's just great to come back for my senior year and just get the reward for all the hardwork that my team's put in this season is really great."
