Harlem girls bowling pulls away to win sectional

DEKALB, Ill. (WIFR) -- We're just a week away from the IHSA state championships in girls bowling at the Cherry Bowl in Cherry Valley. Before they can look ahead, the girls need to get through the sectionals first.

Harlem's Treasure Childs had a day to remember on the lanes. The senior led the Huskies with a 1377 six-game series, good enough for the individual championship.

Harlem as a team took home the sectional title, besting Sycamore by 498 pins.

Sycamore, Freeport and Guilford respectively were the other teams to advance to the state meet.

Area individuals that qualified for state include:
Brynn Lambrecht (NORTH)
Caitlyn Bannister (AUBURN)
Tegan Peterson (EAST)
Katie Dummer (ROCHELLE)
Holley Steelberg (BELVIDERE)
