Harlem wins sectional title, Hononegah and Freeport advance to state

DEKALB. Ill. (WIFR) -- A number of area bowlers are down in DeKalb for this year's sectional in boys bowling looking to bowl their way to state.

Harlem will have a chance to defend its state title. The Huskies take home the sectional with a team score of 6526, beating out Hononegah (6395) by 131 pins.

Freeport will also participate in the state tournament. The Pretzels finished in fourth (6090).

Individuals moving on include Brandon Folk from East, Auburn's Matt Seigel, Lutheran's Mason Robbins, and Austin Strite from Oregon.

Guilford missed on a top six finish and advancing to state by two pins.

The state finals will be Saturday, January 27, at O'Fallen High School.
