BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) Although no official games are being played this summer, the winner this offseason is Belvidere North. The Blue Thunder have never experienced a winning season in school history and now they get one of the NIC-10's most successful coaches over the last decade.

Todd Brannan got his first taste of manning the North bench this past Monday during East's summer league.

The Blue Thunder dropped both of their opening matches to East and Lutheran, but Brannan is optimistic about his squad.

Although he departs the conference champs and joins a team which has never finished higher than seventh in the NIC-10, Brannan is feeling optimistic about the future.

"It's been a lot of fun," said Brannan. "I've only been with them for six days as far as our practices but I really like the potential. We've got a long way to go but I really like the potential and their attitude has been good. They're probably working harder than they've ever worked which is good. They've accepted coaching so far. We've got a long way to go though."
