STREAMWOOD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Lady Titans' defense has led them to a 32-0 record and a second straight Super-Sectional. But if Boylan is going to advance to its first final four in school history, they have to take out the defending state champs.
Before you could even blink, Boylan was down 7-2 less than a minute and a half into the game. The Lady Vikings used their size, strength and precision shooting to jump all over the Lady Titans, and didn't let up.
Geneva wins the 4A Streamwood Super-Sectional 54-42.
Coach Paul Perrone said nerves had nothing to do with it, but admitted his girls were at a size disadvantage.
"There's a reason they're the defending state champions. They were very well balanced," said Perrone. "The physicality gave us a lot of problems at the beginning. But we're not going to let one game define our season."
Senior McKenzie Brown led Boylan in scoring with 12 points.
Geneva let it fly from behind the arc throughout the night. The Lady Vikings knocked down 11 three-pointers, Boylan had five.
"We had a great season, won many championships, I'm very proud of the kids," said Perrone. "When you get beat, you want to get beat by a great team and they were. I wouldn't be surprised if they win the state championship again."
