ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The YMCA of Rock River Valley Retired Men's Club gives thousands of dollars to the Y and its 2018 annual campaign.

During a presentation Tuesday, the YMCA received $6,000 and its annual campaign got $10,000. Some of the money is from the men's club's annual Christmas tree sale.

The funds will go toward programs like the intern challenge, wellness equipment and an indoor tree house at the northeast family branch.

"Each year we raise over a million dollars to ensure our families our youth have the ability to sign up for programs. Whether that be a membership at the Y our before and after school, our sports programs or childcare or daycare programs," said YMCA of Rock River Valley CEO Brent Pentenburg.

The Retired Men's Club says it is thankful for the community's support to give the funds to the YMCA.
