Wrestling championship brings traffic to downtown Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Heading to downtown Rockford this weekend could come with extra traffic headaches for drivers.

Nearly 1,000 wrestlers will compete in the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation Championships at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

City leaders warn the influx of wrestlers, parents and fans could lead to congested traffic downtown through Saturday.

The RACVB is working with the city to avoid problems by keeping traffic moving and finding parking for visitors.
