Vacant house fire in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A vacant house at 419 Kishwaukee St. caught fire around 4:30 AM this morning. When the Rockford Fire Department arrive the house was fully engulfed in flames and electrical lines were down in the backyard. Crews fought the fire in defense mode.

The blaze caused around $5,000 in damage; the home is a total loss. No one was injured while fighting the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
