I-Cash program returns $159 million in unclaimed property

ILLINOIS (WIFR) – Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs says his office returned $159 million in cash and stocks through the state’s I-Cash program.

In the past year, nearly 60,000 people took back the millions that are held until someone claims them. Frerichs says thousands don’t know they have unclaimed property held in his office and says it’s as easy as checking the I-Cash website to find out if a forgotten payment is waiting for us.
