Rasmussen College is launching a 21-month surgical technologist associate’s degree program. Surgical technologists help to prep the patient before surgery and assist during the procedure.

The college says the need is there as the number of job postings for the position in Illinois is up 143% and is expected to rise 15% nationally.

Program Coordinator, Kendall Little says “It brings new students into the area and it brings new families moving into the area as hospitals will start hiring our students”.

Enrollment for the program is open now for 24 students a year. Classes start in October.
