HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (WIFR) -- Nancy Rotering, mayor of Highland Park, has officially announced her campaign for Attorney General of Illinois.
Rotering vows that as Attorney General she will fight to protect citizens from gun violence and hold big pharma responsible for "flooding the community with opioids."
Several years ago, Rotering founded a legal aid clinic focusing on helping women escape domestic violence, and to help families battling deportation. She is the first woman to be elected mayor of Highland Park and prides herself on banning assault weapons in her city.
"My background in business and law, coupled with my experience of taking action, will serve the people of Illinois well. Illinois deserves a strong, principled advocate," said Rotering.
