ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A woman and her six-year-old son are okay after police say a pedestrian shot into their car.

Around 2 p.m., a woman tells police she was driving south on Rose Avenue approaching Lincoln Avenue when her car slid on ice and nearly hit a woman who was walking in the intersection.

According to police the woman in the intersection spit on the car and then pulled out a handgun and fired one shot into the windshield. The bullet traveled through the front windshield and out the back driver's side window, missing both the 33-year-old driver and her 6-year-old son.
