ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - A Rockford native is keeping close to friends and family by becoming a nurse practitioner in her hometown.

Shanta McGee, APN is now accepting patients at OSF Center for Health Parkview. McGee earned her BSN from Saint Anthony College of Nursing as well as her MSN from Illinois State University Mennonite College of Nursing.

OSF says McGee's approach to patient care is holistic meaning she treats the whole person and looks at a broad spectrum of things that affect a patient's health.

“I enjoy family practice due to the variety in patient care,” says McGee. “Caring for patients across the lifespan is also a great component of what I do.”

To experience McGee's patient-centered style of treatment, appointments can be made same day by calling 815-381-7250.

OSF Center for Health Parkview is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of every month.
