Rockford man creates presidential card game

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A Rockford man has turned two high stake topics, politics and poker into one idea for profit.

“From now until January 20, everybody’s talking about the presidency. Will it be Trump or will it be Hillary? And so now it’s a perfect time to come out with a game based on presidents.”

Alex Gary has created a new card game called Presidential Poker. What Gary did is factor in 19 historical rankings of presidents dating back to 1948 and he assigned points to each president one to 43. This creates a twist to your regular poker game because a straight of low ranked presidents would actually lose to a pair of high ranked presidents.

Gary is a Democrat and a bit of a presidential historian who came up with the idea of Presidential Poker while watching the Republican primaries.

"My ranking of Presidents is going to be different than yours. It's going to be vastly different than my conservative friends. I wanted to create a ranking that was 100 percent fair and not just saying this is you because I want Republicans, I want conservatives, I want Libertarians, I want Green Party people to buy this game,” says Gary.

The top five presidents ranked are Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Franklin Roosevelt. The five ranked at the bottom are Andrew Johnson, William Henry Harrison, Franklin Pierce, Warren Harding, and James Buchanan.
