Rockford man crashes into snow bank allegedly running away from deputies

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Winnebago County sheriff's deputies filed possession with intent to deliver cannabis and reckless driving charges against 18-year-old Juan Garcia, of Rockford.

Investigators say around 10:30 p.m. Friday, deputies tried to stop Garcia's vehicle at Harrison Avenue and Stowmarket Drive for a traffic violation.

Deputies say he tried to get away but crashed into a snowbank on Goodhue Avenue.

Deputies say they found nearly two and a half pounds of cannabis and more than $3,500 inside the vehicle.

Garcia is charged with possession with intent to deliver cannabis (500-2,000 grams), aggravated fleeing to elude, reckless driving, speeding and improper lane usage.

Garcia is considered innocent until proven guilty.
