Rockford man arrested after shooting near Kishwaukee street

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A 34-year-old Rockford man is arrested after police say he shot a man near Kishwaukee Street and 17th avenue.

Rockford police say they were investigating a shots fired call in the area around 2:30 p.m Wednesday when a 39-year-old man arrived at a hospital saying he was shot near that intersection.

The man was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

After investigation, it was determined that Devin Stevenson was the suspect in the shooting. Officers from the Rockford Housing Authority found Stevenson in the 600 block of Score Street and took him into custody without incident.

He now faces an aggravated battery with a firearm charge.
