WOODSTOCK, Ill (WIFR) - A Rockford man is in custody in McHenry County, accused of stealing more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes from two gas stations.

Authorities say Randy Sanders, 51, threw a brick through the door of a Marengo gas station and stole 82 cartons of cigarettes nearly two years ago.

Then in January 2016, police say he stole 37 cartons of cigarettes from a gas station in Huntley.

The Northwest Herald reports Sanders was in custody at the Winnebago County jail on other charges when he learned about the new warrants.

He is due back in court Friday in McHenry County to address these burglary charges.

His bond is set at $12,500.
