Rockford council committee approves $1 million for street improvement

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- The city of Rockford may be investing more than $1 million into neighborhood street improvements with the hopes of increasing property values.

The city's finance and personnel committee passed more than $1 million in infrastructure projects for neighborhoods across the city.

The streets were chosen based on the condition of the roads and the amount of traffic.

Mayor Tom McNamara hopes the improvements will beautify neighborhoods and increase property values.
