Rockford Police searching for suspect after attempted armed robbery at McDonald's

Rockford, Ill. (WIFR) Rockford Police are searching for a suspect after reports of an attempted armed robbery at a McDonald's around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Police were called to the McDonald's located at 314 N. Mulford Road in regards to an attempted armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers met with an employee who reported that they were approached by a single suspect, while entering the restaurant from a parking area. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, fled the area on foot after he was prevented from entering the restaurant by a locked door.

There were no injuries reported and nothing was taken from the business.

The suspect was described as a black male, 35-40 years of age, six feet tall, 150 pounds, wearing all dark clothing.
