ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Rockford Police are looking for multiple suspects after a man was carjacked at a Rockford gas station.

Investigators say around 12:30 Wednesday a man was pumping gas at the On the Way gas station in the 2600 block of Auburn Street when he was approached by several suspects in a maroon Dodge or Chrysler minivan.

Two of the suspects, one of whom was said to be armed, approached the victim and knocked him to the ground. The suspects then got into the victim's vehicle, a black GMC Yukon, and both vehicles fled the scene.

Surveillance video of the suspects and suspect vehicle were obtained from a different gas station where the suspects had reportedly been prior to the incident. Police believe the victim was targeted and that the attack was not random.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects and suspect vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police Department Investigation Bureau (779-500-6551) or Crime Stoppers (815-963-7867).
