ROCKFORD, Ill (WFIR) -- Bruce Rauner has announced his re-election for the seat of Illinois Governor.
The current governor outlined his vision with a vow to "keep fighting" for the future of Illinois.
Rauner gave a strong statement, saying "We have a choice. We can throw in the towel, walk away and leave our future to the same corrupt, career politicians – or we can fight. I choose to fight."
The governor said some of his biggest accomplishments so far include the education reform, criminal justice reforms and ending illegal patronage hiring.
As far as the future of Illinois, Rauner says "it's time to finish the job." He plans to rollback the 32% income tax hike and fight for a property tax relief. In addition, he wants to term limit career politicians who he says created the mess in Illinois.
