Police searching for vehicle involved in shooting this morning

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Rockford Police are asking for help in finding a blue vehicle involved in a shooting this morning.

Police say they were called to Crosby Street and Adams Street for shots fired. When they arrived, they found out an older model Jeep Cherokee was shooting at a smaller blue vehicle, which could be a Mazda. They found the rear window of the Mazda was shot out. Both cars were gone from the scene when they arrived.

The officers later found the Jeep in the 3100 block of 10th Street and talked to the people in the car. The people in the Jeep were not charged.

The investigation is ongoing, but police are asking for anyone with information regarding the incident to call the Investigations Bureau at 779-500-6551 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
