ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Aircraft rescue and fire crews responded to a plane crash Monday morning at the Chicago Rockford International Airport.

RFD reports a pilot was the only one in the Cessna 172 airplane that crashed around 9:30 a.m.

Investigators say the plane was landing at the airport when the crash happened, however it is unclear what led up to the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will assist in the investigation.

The pilot of the plane is in good condition and was not hurt.
