UPDATE: TOWN OF BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) -- The name of the person who died in a car crash Friday afternoon in the Town of Beloit has been released by the Rock County Examiner's Department.
Town of Beloit Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash in the 2500 block of S. Paddock Road Friday afternoon. Town of Beloit police say the engine compartment of the car caught on fire and the driver died as a result of that fire. The Rock County Examiner's Department has now identified that driver to be 22 -year-old Nicholas A. Jones of Madison, Wisconsin. The examiner's department and Town of Beloit police are continuing to investigate the death.

Investigators say it happened at 12:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of S. Paddock Road.
Witnesses tell police that a person inside the car was pinned when the engine caught on fire.
The Rock County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on Saturday to determine a positive identification of the victim.
Investigators believe the car went into the ditch and hit a concrete culvert causing it to end up on its roof.
No names are being released at this time.
