Ogle County Sheriff's Office conducting Halloween sex offender compliance check

OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office is on the streets keeping an eye on sex offenders this Halloween.

Sex offenders are prohibited from participating in certain events like Halloween. This is the second year the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office has driven around checking up on registered sex offenders, making sure they’re not interacting with kids.

They say if you’re taking your children out trick-or-treating to only go to houses that have their porch light on and follow the posted times for trick-or-treating in your area.

Officers are split between five regions in Ogle County to ensure sex offenders are abiding by the rules.
