ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The Rockford Fire Department is on the scene of an apartment fire in the 4100 block of Florida Drive, that's just off Alpine Road.

Investigators say everyone was able to get out of the building and no one is hurt at this time.

Fire crews are still working to put the fire out but say people should avoid the area as Florida Drive is blocked off and ice could form from the water being used to put the fire out.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
