NIU President to propose salary increase for faculty

DEKALB, Ill. (WIFR) – Acting NIU President, Lisa Freeman, says she is planning to propose salary increases for the school’s faculty next month.

Freeman, who replaced former President Doug Baker in June, says she will request a 3% salary increase for university employees. However, the increase would only include workers hired before the end of 2016 and who are not under an open contract with a bargaining unit. Freeman will reportedly request the raises at a Board of Trustees meeting next month.
