ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A 44-year-old man is suffering from non-life threatening injuries after being shot while trying to get away from an armed robbery around 2:30 Sunday morning.
Police say they responded to a local hospital where a shooting victim had walked in. Investigators say the victim was approached by a man at the intersection of Benton Street and N. Longwood Street. The suspect demanded money, that's when the victim tried to get away but was shot.
Police say the suspect is described as a white man in his 20's with a beard. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call the Rockford Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
