BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) - A 53-year-old man is arrested after police say he stole copper wiring from a vacant home at 1852 Dewey Avenue.

City of Beloit police say Kenneth Hill was seen leaving a vacant home through the broken back window, allegedly with copper wiring and other items from the home.

Investigators believe Hill is connected with at least 15 other vacant property burglaries. They say the cost of repairs alone from the removal of copper wiring, copper pipes and water meters exceeds $100,000.

Hill has several convictions for burglary in Illinois and this case is under review.

Hill is innocent until proven guilty.
