DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) – Students at a local community college will soon be paying more for classes.
The Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees voted to raise tuition starting in the fall, meaning students will see an increase of $10 per credit hour and a $5 increase for technology fees.
In total, in-district tuition fees will now be $156 per credit hour compared to $141 for the current school year.
The Board of Trustees say the state budget impasse has put the college in a tough position, however there is some good news for those planning on taking courses online.
The college will eliminate a $30 online course fee with those costs being offset by the increase in technology fees.
