ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Although most of the students at a local early childhood center have not spent a full day in school yet, an Illinois non-profit is making sure when that day comes, the young students are ready.
Clearbrook is an Arlington Heights-based non-profit organization, working with adults with disabilities. The group took it upon themselves to do a school supply drive, collecting supplies for about 400 students at Dennis Early Childhood Center.
Although most of the children at Dennis only attend school for half a day, Principal Jenny Keffer believes this donation will help prepare them for kindergarten.
"We're very excited for students to be able to come and pick up some supplies and take them home to be able to continue what we're doing here at school at home as well", says Keffer.
Clearbrook supports over 8,000 people with disabilities and their families every year ranging from babies to seniors.
