ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – If you’re fueling up for a long holiday weekend you may have noticed a jump in prices over the past week. Triple A says we are seeing the highest prices of the year because of Harvey.
The massive storm caused many Gulf Coast Refineries to shut down causing gas prices to go up to 12 cents here in Winnebago County with an average gallon of gas now at $2.33. The national average also rose to $2.45 per gallon.
Triple A analysts expect prices to quickly drop by mid-September.
