SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Illinois still has no method to fund public education with school set to start next month for the academic year.
Lawmakers allocated money for schools in their spending plan enacted over Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner's vetoes.
They included a provision to try to force Rauner to approve a plan that he contends unfairly pushes extra money to Chicago Public Schools. Rauner has said he plans to veto that plan.
