Freeport colleges establish nursing program agreement

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) - An agreement between Highland Community College and Columbia College hopes to get even more students into the nursing field.

Highland Community College officials and representatives from Columbia College finalized an agreement that will connect the two institutions.

Highland will offer an associate program in applied science registered nursing, then students can transfer to online classes to get a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Columbia.

The two colleges hope it will encourage nursing students to go further in their education while working and staying local.
