Five arrested for allegedly trespassing at a Rockford home

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Five people are arrested for trespassing at a Rockford home over the weekend.

Rockford police say around 4:45 p.m. Sunday they were called to the 700 block of Barnum Road where concerned citizens reported a burglary in progress.

Witnesses told officers that two vehicles and several people were at the address. Police found the two cars a few blocks away from the scene. One car had a handgun and ammunition inside.

An investigation led to the arrest of five people.

29-year-old Kendrick Hawthorne, of Rockford, is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a street gang member, no firearms owner's identification and criminal trespass to real property.

22-year-old Deandre Boatwright, of Memphis, Tennessee, is charged with criminal trespass to real property and obstructing identification.

31-year-old Legion Charlton, of Rockford, 28-year-old Tabatha Adamaitis, of Rockford, and 19-year-old David Bennett, of Rockford, are charged with criminal trespass to real property.

All five are considered innocent until proven guilty.
