FHN Memorial Hospital implements visitor restrictions to prevent spread of the flu

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) -- At the height of flu season, FHN Memorial Hospital says it wants to prevent the spread of the disease.

FHN says it is implementing restrictions for hospital patients and visitors.

Those include:
-No visitors under the age of 18
-Only two visitors per patient at one time
-Visitors with a fever, cough or sore throat cannot visit
-Any patients hospitalized with the flu can only have visitors when necessary for emotional well-being or care
-Respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette must be followed at all times

"We are putting these restrictions in place to protect our patients and their families as well as our staff during flu season," says Dr. Robert Geller, the Infections Disease Specialist and Medical Staff President for FHN.
