ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Community members took a step back in time Sunday to learn about cultural decorations and traditions at the Ethnic Heritage Museum Park.
The Graham-Ginestra House shared English Christmas traditions, and the Ethnic Heritage Museum decked out six galleries with holiday décor. African American, Hispanic, Irish, Italian, Lithuanian and Polish decorations were included.
"I think it's great because then you can kind of touch basis with your own culture and you can see similarities with the different cultures and appreciate the beauty of this season and find out more about how people celebrate the holiday," said Ethnic Heritage Museum Board President Sue Lewandowski.
Lewandowski said this event is a way for us to cherish our own culture and connect us with the early beginnings of Rockford.
