Drive-by shooting leaves one injured on city's north side

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- A victim is recovering from non-life threatening injuries after being involved in a drive-by shooting in the 2100 block of North Central Avenue around 2:30 Sunday morning.

Rockford Police say they responded to a local hospital after a shooting victim had walked in.

Police say they spoke with the victim who says they were driving northbound on North Central Avenue when a car pulled up next to them and began shooting multiple rounds.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police say there is no suspect or vehicle description at this time.
