CHICAGO (AP) – Dozens of people have been arrested for selling guns and drugs on Facebook.

Chicago police have seized $46,000 worth of drugs and 18 guns from members of a private Facebook group. Superintendent Eddie Johnson says that police have arrested 50 people following this yearlong investigation. The Facebook group could not be found through the site’s search function and Johnson was critical of Facebook because of their unwillingness to cooperate during the investigation. He says that this was the reason the investigation took so long.

According to a police spokesman, Facebook has reached out to the department and will discuss problems that the detectives encountered during the investigation.
